DBGVIEW(*ALL) does not conflict with OUTPUT(*NONE). The compile listing for
DBGVIEW(*LIST) does not have to be present on the spool file, in fact it is
stored with the program object. OUTPUT(*PRINT/*NONE) only determines
whether the source listing is printed of not.

I wonder. You have OUTPUT(*NONE) DBGVIEW(*ALL). A contradiction might
appear to exist - DBGVIEW(*ALL) implies *SOURCE + *COPY + *LIST. So, a
compiler listing has to be produced in order to incorporate it within
the debug data.

Maybe there's a bug at your O/S. Maybe the compiler listing is not
disposed of (OUTPUT(*NONE)) once the program object is created. Contact
IBM Support and see if there any PTF's?

I think Elmer has it right.

When I strip everything else out and just run this hard-coded command,
it functions correctly (no output).

"CRTBNDRPG PGM(QTEMP/DS001LE) SRCFILE(DS_MAIN/QRPGLESRC)
SRCMBR(DS001LE) OUTPUT(*NONE) DBGVIEW(*ALL) FIXNBR(*ZONED *INPUT PACKED)"

Now I'm REALLY confused. I debugged the program as it was, and this
is the EXACT same command built & issued by the original program.

The prototype for QCMDEXC is...:
D qcmdexc PR extpgm('QCMDEXC')
D command 255A const
D cmdlen 15P 5 const

I checked and we don't have a customized version of CRTBNDRPG anywhere
on our system.

To quote Elmer Fudd, "There's something reawwy scwewy going on awound
here."
