The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

I tried the ADDLNK command, and of course it creates a link -- but when the 'link' doesn't look like a windows shortcut. It doesn't retain the original file's application icon. It isn't a file type 'Shortcut'. It appears that from the Windows side, a file that is created via the ADDLNK command on the iSeries is totally worthless (for my needs).
Any other ideas?

Assuming the stream file exists on the native file system, and you want the shortcut to also exist on the native file system, check out the ADDLNK command. A symbolic link can be thought of as a shortcut (sort of).
