I would say that wouldn't always mean a bad URL. It could mean incorrectly
set up networking as well. I've dealt with hundreds of customers who would
rather enter host table entries instead of setting up DNS in CFGTCP.
*shudder*

(QED) Quite Easily Done.
Execute a SQL statement
Values systools.httpgetclob('http://nra.org', '') into :myRPGvar
If the URL is bad you will get a sql state of 38000 or an sql code of
SQL4302
Fire up Run SQL Scripts and try these statements:

values systools.httpgetclob('http://nra.org', '');

values systools.httpgetclob('http://nosuchdarnthing.fungus', '');

select
MESSAGE_ID, -- The message ID for this message
MESSAGE_TEXT -- The first level text of the message including tokens
from table(qsys2.joblog_info('*')) A
-- where message_id='SQL4302'
order by ordinal_position desc
fetch first row only;

Subject: Validate URL in RPG

Hello everyone

I need to control that a URL entered by a user is valid.
Would anyone have an example of RPG code for this?

Regards,
