I do not envy your situation!

You CAN edit free form in SEU - Jon will scold me for this - you have to 
be sure that your syntax is correct, then ignore the yellow lines of 
"bad" source and say 'N' on the 2nd to last prompt, I think, where you 
save the member - the one that says you have errors, do you want to 
return to the source.

It won't go into the DEBUG statement, but you don't need it there - put 
it at the top as expected and ignore the warnings - ba-da-bing!!
