I still use this practice. I've worked in shops that use both. And it
makes me irk just a little when all source is in the same source file. But
only because it's not what I am used to.

I like these separated because, well, I guess when that idea was presented
at one of the shops I worked it, it was pleasing to my OCD brain.

I guess for me I'm either working on RPG programs or modules, and I don't
want all the other similarly named source files there.

Now, that was back when SEU/PDM was used. With PC based IDEs, well, I am
not finding anything detrimental about it either. hehe...

Now, what DOES make me think of "old practices" that should be thrown are
are shops that use naming conventions with no significance at all... like..

AAAA
AAAB
AAAC
AAAD

For source members, files, program, etc.. doesn't matter. Even FIELD
names.. ugh.. so frustrating. Must have been a thing before my time (which
kinda started with V2Rx).

When we finally get to remove the 10 character limit and possibly make the
system ASCII instead of EBCDIC, then that may change the whole paradigm.
(wishful thinking I know hahah).

I should, too?

I stopped using QCLSRC, QRPGSRC, QRPGLESSRC, etc a very long time ago; I
prefer all related source grouped together in a recognizable naming
pattern. Easy to see and easy to police.

I am seeing discussion about the necessity of using QCPYSRC as a PF-SRC
file. Is that a universally held practice in RPG-World? Is this a
compelling reason to revert back to 1980s practices?
