no - this is the only pgm in the entire jobstream that uses these files...
they are only referenced in the declare cursor statement...

On my system, files are open all day, in thousands of jobs. That's
normal, and expected. Typically, I don't care if a file is open or not
unless some process wants an exclusive lock on it. That's why I asked
about exclusive locks.

Maybe a more useful question: What prompted you to look at open files?
