Hi,

I think in your code you just need to replace *utf8 with 1208.. then it should
work.

You're going to need to be more specific.

My fixed RPG is (thankfully) a little rusty, but that looks like a stand-alone
variable. Are you saying I need to redefine my variable, or use a variable
instead of a named constant?

Is there any good way to set CCSID for named constants? I had hoped that the
compiler could figure it out, but alas no. Here's a snippet of what I'd like to
do.

Dcl-s variable varChar(255) ccsid(*utf8) ; Dcl-c constant ';' ; If
%scan(constant :variable) > 0; Endif;

The compiler doesn't like that (RNF0353: The first and second parameters of
%SCAN or %SCANR are not of the same type.). I've got it working now by using
hex constants, but that's kind of a pain to work with.

TIA
