HTTPAPI is returning a failure code. It "seems" to be handling this normally. Once it gets off track however, there's no getting back on.

I've seen CGIDEV2 "destabilize" a CGI job, but never an entire " IBM i HTTP server".

An error in an HTTPAPI call could be what's destabilizing the IBM i CGI interface.

Any unresolved error in any CGI program can destabilize the IBM i CGI interface. CGI program errors can altogether destabilize the IBM i HTTP server. That's what appears to be happening in this case.
