If you actually want/need to pass _any_ type of data then the only way to do it would be to pass a pointer to the item.

Problem is not with passing it - but determining the data type at the other end. The CEE APIs can't help - and in fact aren't really a lot of use anyway due to the limits on the data types that they support.

As others have noted, your best bet is to pass a DS which includes a "record identifier" and then map the appropriate fields based on the Id.

is it possible to define this so that it take any "type" as a second parm. Then within the routine, determine what that parm type is and proceed as needed.
