Then it looks like you understand exactly what you need to do. Change your ajax call from retrieving a static JSON file on the ifs to retrieving data from a web service. The web service on the iSeries can be anything that can serve up a web page. Lots of possible ways have been mentioned in this thread. Chose one and start exploring it. You have an RPG background, so the quickest way to get started would probably be to download powerEXT and use that. Install it, and modify one of the examples to return your data.

Exactly where I am at. Exactly what I did. if you look at
ventures.martinvt.com you will see it, using JSON data and javascript. There
is a JSON file there too. I would like to replace that JSON file with meanigful
request for data from a web service based on an iSeries.

Hi Booth

I feel you would get a bit of benefit out of forgetting the IBM i side
of things temporarily and go about building a web server, web page etc
in any of the flavours you can manage it on a PC. Just get a book that
tells you how to build a test LAMP stack on your PC (or RoR or... or
whatever floats your boat really) and try learning the terminology and
pieces without trying to fit them back into your RPG scenario.

When you feel like you are on top of what's gogin on and all the
pieces you will be able to come back to the RPG/IBM i side of things
and it should make more sense how it fits together. If nothing else
you will have a fun detour where you will learn some stuff.
