I don't see valid arguments against a view layer in your responses or did
I overlook something?
I don't really have any arguments against using a view layer, whether that
layer is defined via SQL views or logical files. I do see some trade-offs
in regard to whether you want to maintain an additional view layer (thus
planning for future change) vs. just maintaining a physical layer (tables)
that you don't foresee any change to.
I haven't see any valid arguments against referencing physical files in
update operations (whether insert, update, or delete).
