Bradley,

you are quite right, when people move their JSON files from a PC to the IFS
the UTF-8 file
becomes a CCS-id 1252 file and you have to change it's attribute to CCS-id
1208.

People tends to forget that PC's dosn't have CCS-id's and when programs
like notepad++
sees UTF-8 it is based on the content of the file using a algorithm no an
external CCS-id
marker on the file.

Booth,

I've seen that when the CCSID of the JSON file is incorrect.

Test the JSON first for validity. I use this but a google search will
bring up a few:

Also, when asking for help, you may want to include code and the json
itself.

"lexical error: invalid char in json text " is the error message in debug
with yajl_buf_load_tree().

The json file is a a file I use successfully in javascript web pages. I
uploaded the file to the IFS without trouble. In fact I did it once with
FileZilla and once with RDi. Both attempts gave this same error message.
I then edited the file in the IFS with WRKLNK option 2
