We have the former, but without the latter, there's nothing more than
suggestions. And I, as a lowly contractor, am not going to be the one to
make that suggestion. I couldn't pull it off politely enough.

My style is more passive aggressive. I develop all of my new programs
using **FREE and start coding in column 1. Free form File and Definition
specs. And hoping the old-timer has to do the code review.

We just got a local IT manager who has a lot of experience on the IBM
midrange and who empathizes with my predicament. One of his priorities is
to develop standards, but that one has to swim upstream a raging river of
need-it-yesterday projects.
