Given the query is unrelated to RPG, there may be more collective knowledge on midrange-l, as contrasted on this language-specific forum/list.

As Justin alludes, there likely is an exit point for the feature for which an exit program can be coded; probably coded in any language, irrespective use of ILE. Some information about what entries from Work With Registration Information (WRKREGINF), such as those of QIBM_QZDA_* (see list just below) and perhaps QIBM_QTF_TRANSFER might be used for the file transfer [aka data transfer], along with perhaps mention of any relevance for the Network Attribute (see CHGNETA) for DDM exit, may be in results presented by the following web search:

QIBM_QZDA_INIT ZDAI0100 Database Server - entry
QIBM_QZDA_NDB1 ZDAD0100 Database Server - data base access
QIBM_QZDA_NDB1 ZDAD0200 Database Server - data base access
QIBM_QZDA_ROI1 ZDAR0100 Database Server - object information
QIBM_QZDA_ROI1 ZDAR0200 Database Server - object information
QIBM_QZDA_SQL1 ZDAQ0100 Database Server - SQL access
QIBM_QZDA_SQL2 ZDAQ0200 Database Server - SQL access
