I'm confused. If CPYF CREATE(*YES) creates a physical file, there's no logical file involved. What am I missing?


Okay I didn't explain that the copy from and copy to were the same "name" with different libraries and the from file was a type *LF. And if fact the system didn't accept it because it did not recreate the *LF but it doesn't reject it either as on the initial glance the output file has the Logical File name. I do believe that if the tofile were an existing logical the cpyf would fail. So your original statement is true and I will shut up now. It was not my intention to highjack the thread.
