Hi Gerald
Basically, once the class path is set, it is not changed in the job. The
VALUE might be changed, but that change is not picked up. I believe that
this is the case, even if you change the environment variable for it.
So it is always suggested to use a batch job for anything with Java -
unless you know that the class path you start with is the one you will
always need in that job.
So maybe you make a class path that comprises all the stuff you need.

this question will show my ignorance...--
in my interactive job, the first time a java routine is executed, the
classpath is set.
I believe it is loaded from the CLASSPATH environment variable...
currently my SYS (and user for that case) CLASSPATH is:
'.:/java/jdbc/mysql-connector-java-5.1.36-bin.jar:/java/jdbc
/jtds-1.2.5.jar:/java/jdbc/sqljdbc.jar'
(MySQL Driver, and (2) different drivers for microsoftSQL)
Once the JVM is started, what would change the JVM's classpath?
I have made sure the EscapeProcessor class is in the .jar file...
those jobs that show a problem, have been in and out of these routines all
day.... it is almost
like a time out occurs...
pardon a 2nd question:
If you are using the mySQL jdbc drivers via Scott's JDBCR4 programs,,, do
you
call them within the interactive job, or do you pass data between jobs?

Gerald,
What this tells you is that when calling the prepareStatement Java method
(a routine in the JDBC driver) it is internally trying to call something
named "com.mysql.jdbc.EscapeProcessor", but can't find it.
This is all happening inside the JDBC driver. JDBCR4 calls the
prepareStatement method of whichever driver you've loaded, but cannot
control what the prepareStatement method does under the covers.
Possibly you are missing some JAR file in your CLASSPATH? Or possibly
this is a bug in the MySQL JDBC driver you're using?
