About the only improvement would be to make the dimensions 1 and 2 named constants,
so
D* Named Constants
D before C 1
D after C 2

custRec(1) = custRec(2);
would appear . . .

If custRec( before ) = custRec( after) ;


The mulitple Lines of the Subfile would then become a 2 x SflLines
and I guess you can then write the compare of the Subfile Lines as

For x = 1 to SflLines
If custRec( before ).Subfile( xx ) = custRec( after).Subfile( xx ) ;
