It surprises me what gems there are with SQL. Perhaps there is another one I haven't found?

I have a cursor which fetches rows, up to 50 or so, and stores them in a host variable data structure. The fetch happens several times, from 1 to say, 40. I would like each subsequent fetch to append the fetched rows at the end of the previous fetch. When done, I would like a single host variable data structure with up to a thousand or so rows.

Is this reasonably possible?
