The cost seems to be a factor. What is the cost? A thousand dollars one-time cost? Is there an annual maintenance fee? What happens if maintenance is dropped?

Lots of unanswered costs about the real cost of RDi. Yet decisions are being made based on the lack of information.

That seems odd, especially among this group.

I do think that some of us are overemphasizing RDI, and more, that RDI at least appears to be an unreasonable financial cost for many small shops. Or rather, has been. And I also tend to agree it is not as much of a productivity enhancer as some here think. Don’t forget how disruptive it can be to learn, and what happens when you hit a shop that doesn’t have it or won’t allow it?

All the same, I often use it. :)
