Vern,

I think I can see how I can do it now. The only thing I'm concerned with and it may not be an issue, is the amount fields.
Apparently I need to turn my file (which I guess is really just a template) in to all alpha fields, then I can load the fields with my Heading fields.

Thanks
Mike

I've seen CSV files with a heading row - it's just another row of comma-separated values - something like this -

"Account","Address","City","State","ZIP"
"Fred's Tire Store","123 Any Street","Los Angeles","CA",93276

Excel would open that just fine - it could care less about numeric vs alpha in the ZIP column.

Maybe you can ask the HSA folks for an example - a picture and a 1000 words comes to mind!

Good luck!

Vern,
I was thinking about that after I left for the day.
I'm creating a file for HSA contributions and the instructions said to use a .CSV file. When the requesting user opened the template file it had Headings, although it did open in Excel.
I might need to double check this and make sure it truly is a .CSV file they need.

CSV doesn't have a heading line as such - it's just another data line with the heading text in the fields.

I've not looked at their example in a while, so I'll take a stab at a caveat - be careful about data types if you want to put heading on it - or be sure that every column is alpha.

I’ve been working through Jon and Susans example to write a CSV file on the IFS.
I have it working, but I’m not sure how/if I can write a line with headings?

Thanks
