For example - If the prototype if coded with *OMIT and *OMIT was used on the call, then testing the %Addr of the parm for *Null is the way to go.

If the proto codes it as *NoPass and it was simply left off the call, then you would have to use %Parms to determine if it was present - you cannot rely on the value of the pointer.

If this is not what you mean then can you be a bit more explicit because RPG does not have much of a notion of nulls so the answer in other cases is an “it depends” scenario.
