Do you mean a record containing NULL values and read into a data structure
(defined either as external data structure or with LIKEREC) is passed to a
different procedure or program?
If so ...
First question: Is the parameter defined with LIKEDS or LIKEREC and is the
keyword OPTIONS(*NULLIND) added?
Second question: Is keyword ALWNULL(*USRCTL) or ALWNULL(*INPUTONLY) within
the H-Specs?

If OPTIONS(*NULLIND) is specified and ALWNULL is set correctly within the
called procedure, a NULL value passed within the parameter data structure
can be checked or set with the built-in-function %NULLInd.

Betreff: Checking for Nulls in Stand alone variables

I know I can check for null fields in externally described files; however,
is there a way to check for a null value in an inbound parm (DS) or stand
alone variable?
