I respectfully disagree disagree. IBM *could* have provided this feature in
the DSPPGM command.
For example - the Display File Description (DSPFD) command has numerous
formats which can be specified based on the TYPE() and FILEATR() parms, with
each format having a different *OUTFILE:

IBM could have added similar capabilities to the DSPPGM command, allowing
different formats with specific *OUTFILE formats based on the DETAIL()
parm...

I believe that DSPPGM does give a list of modules - it is just not on
the first page - if on the screen, press Enter 2 times and you are at
the module list.
The reason DSPPGM doesn't have an OUTFILE is that all the information is
in different formats. No single useful file would be of any use. So
there is only the *PRINT output option.
Now this list is only for ILE programs, of course.
