I wish I could help, but I went through this a couple of decades ago. The
place I worked at had a *subroutine* that was used in sixteen [16] programs
(yes, I still remember the number). I had to make a change, but I
suggested, at the very least, creating a program with a CALL, preferably a
service program (which they had never heard of, and which I had never
written). I had my knees whacked (hurt like heck); I turned in my
resignation (as my best friend observed once: Jerry, you have a bad attitude
- and she likes me).
