Looks like Barbara and the IBM team did a great thing for us.
Yes, we will have to get used to reading the new format.
But they left it up to us to pick and choose what we want to use.

For me, I will be using:

Mixing F and D specs even in fixed form. This means that based-on work fields defined "LIKE" are more obvious since I can group them under the file their source-field resides.

The free-form D specs which end with ; // I can now affix a comment onto the Field where it belongs, not under it

Elimination of the /FREE /END-FREE combo Copying in old C KLISTS will keep my code clean since I have re-typing those as Free
