I am running a Windows 7 Pro PC. My main IDE is RDP 8.5, but I still
fire up Code when I want to run a Rexx macro on things. I hadn't tried
VARPG in a long while, but to my surprise the GUI designer started right
up and I was able to create a simple panel with no problem. Running the
.exe was a problem until I added C:\WDSC\SYSTEM to my PATH environment
variable. (I installed Code/400 into C:\WDSC)

Ran just fine after that.

On the IBM i 6.1 Info Center I noticed VisualAge is apparently still
supported. I'm curious to know what kind of business solutions
people may be currently using this for. How does it compare/contrast
with EGL ? My assumption is Visual Basic, C# and .Net would be
a better set of tools.

VARPG is a thick client, so it's more akin to VB than EGL. IBM of
course aren't going to suggest a Microsoft product to replace an IBM
product...
