my hazy memory is that each 14" platter cartridge carried a whopping
quarter meg of memory. My Sys/3 Model 6 had only F1 & R1. We had 6 or
8 removable cartridges; a cartridge for each application - A/R, A/P,
Payroll, Billing, Inventory, Shop billing, etc.

I miss the old IBM "Merlin" series mainframe drives and packs. To the point where I own a thumb-drive that's a crude, pocket-sized model of a Merlin pack, and I have the parts to build a second.
