F1 = Fixed Disc 1, F2 = Fixed Disc 2.
R1 = Removable Disc 1, R2 = Removable Disc 2.

my hazy memory is that each 14" platter cartridge carried a whopping quarter meg of memory. My Sys/3 Model 6 had only F1 & R1. We had 6 or 8 removable cartridges; a cartridge for each application - A/R, A/P, Payroll, Billing, Inventory, Shop billing, etc.

F1, F2, etc, was used for function keys one, function key 2, etc. But R1,
R2, and then D1?? What do they mean? I do not recall even seeing them in
manuals. Matching records were in the manuals but I never used them in
any programs.

Thank you,
Nancy
