AFaIK a job running in batch may still be able to open a Display
device file. Whether it is possible depends on the DEV parameter in
effect for the OPEN [from the *FILE or the Override], and whether the
device(s) is available [to the batch job]. I believe only a DSPF with
DEV(*REQUESTER) [and not impacted by an OVRDSPF DEV(named)] can be
presumed to fail as described.
