Saw the formatting in the f1 help at "Display or Change a Character - RPG"
after much drilling down.
The error is coming from the facts that:
- The debugger doesn't count data structures as characters
- The debugger doesn't allow you to combine substring and conversion like
this EVAL %SUBSTR(DSRV0100:C 3 5)
