I've used Gentran in the past...
http://www.sterlingcommerce.com/products/b2b-integration/gentran/Gentran.htm

My only complaint with the product is that their outbound stream file
via IFS / FTP is weak. Also it would be nice to have a GUI interface
for mapping and/or partner setup. But their i product is strictly
green screen.

Note: Sterling was recently bought by IBM....

Biggest complaint about any of the i EDI products is licensing....
some of the big EDI companies don't tend to be very friendly to the
point of more $$$ to move to a new box than the hardware is going to
cost (look in the archives for rants).

Personally, if I was starting today...I'd be taking a hard look at the
open source BOTS project..

Okay, so I should have said, can you recommend a couple resources? I
know Google quite well and would have hit Google tonight when I start
working on that project again. But product/tool recommendations would
be greatly appreciated so I can filter through the crap on Google and
find the good stuff.

They have those? Can you point me to some references? I am learning
EDI as I go here. My knowledge is that a flat-file is sent in a
particular standard format usually via FTP through another company.
