Keep in mind, if charField consists only of *Blanks an error occurs.
In this way you may want to check for *Blanks first

Monitor;
If %Len(%Trim(CharField)) > *Zeros;
X = %Dec(%Trim(charField) : 13 : 0);
EndIf;

On-Error;
// Non decimal data in charField

EndMon;

Morning all
my brain is still stuck in neutral even though I've had a large number of
cups of coffee

I am sure that I have done this before, but I cannot locate it
I have a 13 character field that can contain a number of any length with
leading and/or trailing blanks
I am pretty sure that I have used %dec to validate that the field contains
numeric data and will give an error if a blank is somewhere other than
trailing or leading
Does any one know what I am talking about?
