You may or may not need/want the %Trim.

Subject: Using %dec to validate a field contains only numeric characters
Morning all
my brain is still stuck in neutral even though I've had a large number of
cups of coffee
I am sure that I have done this before, but I cannot locate it
I have a 13 character field that can contain a number of any length with
leading and/or trailing blanks
I am pretty sure that I have used %dec to validate that the field contains
numeric data and will give an error if a blank is somewhere other than
trailing or leading
Does any one know what I am talking about?
