It is easy to test though. Just change the file Force write ratio of 1 and
then test.

I am hoping that would not be the issue. Force write just manages how many
records need to be changed before the changes are forced to permanent
storage. They should all be available to read, and should fire a trigger
immediately whether they have been forced to disk or not. I have not tested
this, but it is what I would expect.

Have you looked at the force write ratio on the file ? The record may not be
hitting the file immediately.

The trigger does run after about 3 to 5 minutes. We don't see any locks
happening.

What's the trigger program look like?  Is a lock happening?  Is the trigger
just taking a long time to run?  what happens when you put it into debug?

Subject: FILE TRIGGER

I have file with a trigger program attached to it and when a record is
written to this file it is suppose to execute the trigger. Once the
record is written it take a good 3 to 5 minutes to execute the trigger.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
