When dealing with triggers, I keep the processing to an absolute minimum
within the actual trigger program. In most cases, I have my trigger
program write some identifying information to a transaction file or a
dataque. This can be done very quickly, usually without noticeable
performance degradation. I then have a server or a submitted job handle
the heavy lifting asynchronously.

FILE TRIGGER
I have file with a trigger program attached to it and when a record is
written to this file it is suppose to execute the trigger. Once the
record is written it take a good 3 to 5 minutes to execute the trigger.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
