Hello,

I don't use the Axis web-service engine, and my C++ experience was not on IBM i... But when I did code C++, a 'bool' was an 8-bit integer, where x'00' meant "false" and anything else (usually x'01') meant true.

IIRC, that's also the case in Java.

Worth a try, anyway...

Entirely possible. It's in a call to the Axis web-service engine, and
I'm pretty sure that's mostly or entirely in C++ (at least, what isn't
Java).

And it certainly would explain why I'm seeing "bool," when I've never
seen nor heard of such a thing as a C primitive.

(I suppose it could be worse. At least we don't have to deal with BCPL.)
