Of course, if they are there. Our operations guys support all the PCs and
Wintel Servers too so they are sometimes out in the trenches. Every shop
is different. I just don't see the harm in having the binding directories
on the production LPAR.

So you need a new operations staff? <grin>

Seriously, doesn't your operations staff have procedures to support
and emergency change? Whereby the installation of the change gets
priority?

Oh, the CMS definitely can handle it. It's a matter of waiting for my
Operations staff to actually do the move. Sometimes you just can't wait
on them. In the end, it doesn't hurt anything to have them there.

If your CMS doesn't allow for quick & dirty development to be pushed
to production quickly...

You need a new CMS. :)

While not required, I personally like to send binding directories to

something
quick and dirty in production for a problem. (Of course I would never
recommend working in production. Especially not when upper management
is
breathing down your neck.)

RE: Service programs and binding directories question

correct binding directories and modules are compile-time objects and
are
not needed on your production system. generally for CM packages i set
up
the process to only distribute the service program or program
