Rob, thanks for your last post, it made me feel a little less embarassed! I think I should have known the difference between a parameter and a return value by now.

So, I think I don't even need the *CL on the prototype.

As for not using QWCRNETA, well the idea was that the CL would have been implemented in 2 minutes. The API would have taken many times longer as I have never coded it before.
If you reread the OP, I'd be replacing one API with another, also.

No, you're passing a parameter by reference. David is expecting a
return value. As Peter said you can't do that in CL. It supports
receiving a return value but not sending one.
