A user space is a permanent object that exists in single-level storage (unless you happen to create it in QTEMP, or delete it after use in your program). If you need temporary space > 16 MB, use teraspace (available since 1999).

You could also easily create multiple 16 MB user spaces, and use them together to create a "composite" object whose total size is > 16 MB.

How often does anyone really need a contiguous permanent object in single-level storage that is greater than 16 MB?

All true, but does not address the User Space comments. It seems silly that
since such changes as long ago as the turn of the century, User Space
objects still suffer from such limitations. Your workaround solutions were
good for ten years ago; is that reason enough to not improve other methods?
