The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I've got a real puzzler that I can't seem to figure out. In my code I
have the following....
d lcapDS DS
d LCAP1
d LCAP2
d LCAP3
d LCAP4
d LCAP5
d LCAP6
d LCAP7
d LCAP8
d LCAP 7s 0 Dim(8) Overlay(lcapDS:1)
And I have about half a dozen of these. They compile, they work, and I'm
a happy camper. Well yesterday I realized that I needed a couple more. So
I added these...
d flcapDS DS
d fLCAP1
d fLCAP2
d fLCAP3
d fLCAP4
d fLCAP5
d fLCAP6
d fLCAP7
d fLCAP8
d fLCAP 7s 2 Dim(8) Overlay(flcapDS:1)
d
d
d fdcapDS ds
d fdcap1
d fdcap2
d fdcap3
d fdcap4
d fdcap5
d fdcap6
d fdcap7
d fdcap8
d fdcap 7s 2 Dim(8) Overlay(fdcapDS:1)
d
d
d facapDS DS
d facap1
d facap2
d facap3
d facap4
d facap5
d facap6
d facap7
d facap8
d facap 7S 2 Dim(8) Overlay(facapDS:1)
The compiler tells me that fLCAP1 through fLCAP8, fdcap1 through fdcap8,
and facap1 through facap8 are undefined. Undefined? Why isn't LCAP1
through LCAP8 undefined? Or one of the other half dozen sets of
datastructure fields? I'm at a loss here, and this is driving me crazy.
By the way, if I put a 7s 2 definition on the datastructure fields it
compiles and works fine. It just bothers me that things don't seem
consistent...
Thanks
