Thanks to everyone for the ideas.

It is not practical to combine the feet and inches to total inches in the database. I also need a similar combination with OD and Wall, and they cannot be combined. So I must work with what I have.
As I suspected, SQL is probably the best method, so I will start working on that. Opnqry does have lots of quirks that I'd just as soon avoid.
