exceed that limit? Can the first two characters (i.e. characters 3 and 4

the field name) ever be numeric? Can the last two ever be alpha? If the

In that case, we need to go from ZZ99 back to AA01. This is because the
life cycle of a mfg order is very small and by the time a number comes to
existence, the old one is already in history files, so there is no "clash
of keys" scenario...
