Thank you all. That was the answer. Her Windows and System i passwords
were different. Now that they're the same, it works like a charm. I'm
curious though why, Client Access, which has to be aware of her Windows
credentials (Bypass SignOn), wouldn't be configured to pass those to QNTC
rather than her AS/400 (whoops) creds. Oh well, as long as it works now.

I think you'll need matching userids and passwords between the i5 and
the Windows server.

I've just discovered the QNTC file system which gives my RPG programs

ability to read/write spreadsheets pretty much anywhere on the network.

worked great until I gave it to the user. The "opendir" API fails. I
assume she does not have authority to /QNTC. When,as QSECOFR, I
couldn't
even grant her (or anyone else) authority with WRKLNK, I gave up and
put
the spreadsheet in another user folder on the IFS.

Any ideas why the system will let me (User Class *PGMR) through to QNTC
but not 'regular' users?
