Any ideas why the system will let me (User Class *PGMR) through to QNTC but not 'regular' users?

Check the accounts on the Windows machines. It is the Windows machines that determine who can get access - think of QNTC like a 'mapped network drive' - the permissions are determined by the share settings on the _target_ machine.

QNTC uses the authentication credentials (username and password) from the i5/OS user profile. Ways around this (swapping profiles in your i5/OS program, password swapping, alternate protocols like NFS, etc.) have been discussed extensively in the past, so search the archives if you want more info on those.
