As others have mentioned, you probably want to change the VARYING field to have a maximum length that is more than 1A. Also, Lynne's post here http://forums.systeminetwork.com/isnetforums/showthread.php?t=41914 does a good job of explaining the difference between VARSIZE and VARYING.
