The word is "deprecated," not "depreciated." To "depreciate" something is to reduce it in value; to "deprecate" something, particularly in computing, is to declare it obsolete.
Given that multi-occurrence data structures are idiomatic to RPG, deprecating them would be equivalent to deprecating traditional RPG source format, or deprecating The Cycle: what remained would be something other than RPG, and should therefore have a different name.
