Are you simply reading the file(s) or updating/writing to them? If reading
only, does this include keyed reads (CHAIN's) or just sequential reads? If
you're doing any keyed stuff (either updates or keyed reads), are the key
fields next to one another in the record format, or are they dispersed?

I'm just thinking you might be able to do some sort of array processing...
