The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
What part of this is still unclear to you? Do you know of some way to
create a cursor WHERE NAME >= "G" and somehow roll backwards to get a
record
with NAME = "F"?
Effectively , yes of course.
What I said and what you did not hear was to NOT create the cursor that way,
but
to use scrollable cursor with all the data you actually need in it ordered
in a manner to allow you do to quick and efficient binary searches. It is
made
a strawman argument because you are so intent of proving a point, you don't
seem to realize it is just a bad design - if you want to do what you say you
want to do.
Yes, this has been beaten quite to death, more than enough for such a straw
man
argument. Now you can have the last word, because I am not going to reply to
any
more of this. (But I will read it when I get time. :)
