The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Milan Zdimal - I am using Scott's code and have reviewed his tutorial
extensively.

"Do you mean the work field is less than 2000 bytes or the expected
contents are less than 2000 bytes? What does your write() call look like?
Is it possible that you have a long character field and are writing a
bunch of trailing blanks unintentionally?"
The work field is less than 2000 bytes, and the attributes in wrklnk
confirm that. There are no trailing blanks. Below is the write function:
C Callp write(FD:%Addr(String_V) + 2
C :%Len(String_V))
"Did you open the file in an editor to ensure the x'0D' is actually making
it to the file intact? That way you can at least rule out unexpected data
or unexpected translations (from one CCSID to another for example)."
Yep. The x'0D' is intact. All the data is there, and my programs that
subsequently read from the IFS work as they should. It's just the display
in wrklnk is 'odd' and inconsistent from what I expected to see.
Thanks for the responses.
