Are you ready to write an OCR product for the iSeries? Maybe there is something that can run in PASE.

I looked at the UCLA public domain AIX site - no luck. There appear to be some efforts to make an OCR app for Linux -

Not sure if they scan JPEGs - TIFF is often the format of choice - but I am probably long out of touch with this stuff.

Good luck
Vern

Hi All,

I need your help in one of my assignments. I dont need the solution but I need some valuable suggestions. My requirement is to read some values from the Picture sent by the client system. This picture is taken by an inline camera connected to the client's system.

The camera would catch the Tag number and passes the phtotograph to ISeries through a client system. Is there a way to read the JPEG file to get the number in the picture?

Thanks for all your help.

regards,
Srinivasan
